Classical music can be intimidating, but
​The Listening Lab is here to help! With guided activities, fun and informative histories, and interactive listening guides, expand your student's musical horizons with our unique course. Designed to work in tandem with your existing homeschool curriculum, The Listening Lab is a great supplement to your education goals.
Classes are held on Tuesday afternoons from 2-3 pm at the Music off Main Studio. All materials are provided.
Our Fall 2019 schedule comprises an introductory unit and two 3 week sessions. Sessions and works are listed below:  

  • The Baroque Era
  • The Building Blocks of Music: Fundamental Baroque Style Elements (Oct. 1)
    • Spring and Summer Storytelling with Vivaldi: The Four Seasons (Oct. 8)
    • Opera Origins with Monteverdi: Orfeo (Oct. 15)
    • Mathematical Music with Bach: Prelude and Fugue in D minor (Oct. 22)
 
  • The Classical Era
  • The Building Blocks of Music: Fundamental Classical Style Elements (Oct. 29)
    • Music’s Masterful Mozart: Eine kleine Nachtmusik, 1st movement (Nov. 5)
    • Musical Jokes with Haydn: Symphony 94, 2nd movement (Nov. 12)
    • Better Together with Boccherini: Minuet from the String Quartet in E (Nov. 19)

Students will be provided a workbook for each hourlong session, filled with historical information, guided listening activities, reflection pages, and more! 

Tuition for an Introductory Unit is $15; each Complete 4 Week Session is $50 per student.  Family discounts are available!
